 | Dan Denham threw seven very strong innings on Wednesday. |
| Hammons Field, Springfield, Missouri - Dan Denham set the tone on Wednesday night and the Travs responded with a 4-2 victory over the Springfield Cardinals. The Travs got a three-hit effort from Adam Greenberg and a tie-breaking home run by Corey Smith (15) in the fourth inning. The Travs finally solved the puzzle that was Jess Todd (3-4) scoring four runs against the Cards ace on eight hits in 4.1 innings. |

Brian Stavisky continued his torrid stretch with two dingers (11) and four RBI, while Wil Ortiz collected four hits and scored two runs. Stavisky's second homer gave the Travs a 6-4 lead in the seventh inning but Cody Haerther hit a game-tying homer (1) for the Redbirds and started a game-ending double play from his left-field spot. |

The Arkansas Travelers (9-21, 45-55) had a rough time winning games over the past 12 chances, going 4-8. The Travelers hosted the Tulsa Drillers for four games and lost two of them before going on the road to NW Arkansas and being swept. The Travs then returned home for another four-game set with the Drillers and were able to only manage two victories again. The poor start to the second half has them sitting well below the rest of the division in last place, eight games out of first. After finishing the first half two games over .500, Arkansas is now 10 games below the break-even mark. The Travelers are assured a playoff spot however due to their first half victory. |
